Jordan, Armin (1932-2006)

Swiss conductor. He studied at Lausanne and was chief conductor of the Bienne Opera 1961-66, the Zurich Opera 1963-71, and the Basel Opera from 1971. He was musical director of the Lausanne Company 1973-85, and of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande from 1985. He conducted, and played Amfortas, in a film version of Parsifal, directed by Syberberg.
