Jorn, Asgar (1914-1973)

Danish painter. One of the founders of the Cobra group, he is best known for thickly-painted canvases, often produced by automatism or random means, and related to action painting. He also made sculptures and ceramics.

Jorn studied with Léger and collaborated with Le Corbusier on the Temps Nouveaux pavilion at the Paris Universal Exhibition, 1937.
