Joseph

Trade name of Joseph Ettedgui (date of birth unknown). French-Moroccan retailer and fashion designer who is known for popularizing the collections of designers such as Katherine Hamnett, Kenzo, Azzedine Alaïa and John Richmond in the UK. He founded the Joseph Tricot label in 1979, which is characterized by soft oversized knitwear and jerseys. In 1985 he launched Joseph Bis, a diffusion line, and Le Joseph, which specializes in jeans wear

He moved to London in 1950 and trained as a hairdresser. When he opened his salon in 1971 he began selling clothes by designers such as Kenzo and Jeff Banks. In 1974 he opened a Kenzo shop
