Joslin, Elliott P (1869–1962)

US physician. He dedicated his life to all aspects of diabetes – research, treatment, and education. Based in Boston, he established a clinic for affordable in-patient care and education in 1953, the Diabetes Foundation for charitable donations in the same year, and also helped establish a summer camp for diabetic children.

He was born in Oxford, Massachusetts. An early interest in diabetes became a passion when his mother became his eighth case in 1900.
