Joyce, Eileen Alannah (1912–1991)

Australian pianist. She studied at Leipzig (taking master classes with Schnabel) and made her London debut in 1930. She played Busoni's Indian Fantasy at the 1934 Proms, under Wood, and championed concertos by Ireland and Shostakovich. She also performed as a harpsichordist with George Malcolm and Thurston Dart.
