KISS

Opinion that the simple way of doing something is often the best. Web site design is a good example of a field where KISS is particularly relevant. The origins of the acronym are unknown.

In academic circles it is known as ‘Occam's razor’ after William of Occam, an English-born Franciscan who studied at the University of Oxford. He applied his principle of economy, ‘non sunt multiplicanda entia praeter necessitatem’ (‘entities are not to be multiplied beyond necessity’), to the study of formal logic and other subjects so frequently that it became known as ‘Occcam's razor’, the medieval version of KISS.
