Kaaterskill Creek

River in southeastern New York State; length 32 km/20 mi. It rises in the Catskill Mountains, and empties into the Catskill Creek at Cauterskill, just west of Catskill.

Course

Rising in marshy ground near Haines Falls, in Hunter township, Greene County, it flows over double falls 49 m/160 ft high at the head of Kaaterskill Clove, a gorge, and continues along a meandering course filled with rapids and falls into the northeastern corner of Ulster County. It then turns northeast to join the Catskill Creek.
