Kaédi

Town and small river port in Mauritania, 575 km/360 mi southeast of Nouakchott on the Senegal River at the border with Senegal; population (2001 est) 50,200. Kaédi is an important market town, and one of the largest settlements in Mauritania. Industrial fishing is important locally.
