Kahului

Community in east-central Hawaii, on the northwestern coast of Maui Island, just east of Wailuku; population (1990) 16,900. Its airport is central to Maui tourism. Kahului was an important port from the 1880s, exporting sugar and pineapples.

Maui Community College and shopping facilities are here, along with a museum of the sugar industry. still a port exporting sugar and pineapples today?
