Kakadu National Park

National park east of Darwin in the Alligator Rivers Region of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. Established in 1979, it overlies one of the richest uranium deposits in the world. As a result of this, the park has become the focal point of controversy between conservationists and mining interests.
