Kalabis, Viktor (1923- )

Czech composer. He studied at the Prague Academy and Charles University. He was manager of the music department at Prague Radio 1953-72.

Works Orchestral five symphonies (1956, 1961, 1971, 1972, 1976); concerto for orchestra (1966), and nine instrumental concertos.

Chamber two nonets, two wind quintets, seven string quartets; sonatas for violin, cello, clarinet, and trombone (1967-82); Incantations for 13 wind instruments (1988).
