Kaminski, Heinrich (1886-1946)

German composer of Polish descent. His work, which is characterized by an intensely serious tone, includes two operas, numerous pieces of choral, orchestral, and chamber music, plus many piano and organ works and songs. Kaminski studied at Heidelberg in Switzerland and Berlin, Germany, and after a short spell of teaching and conducting retired to a Bavarian village to devote himself wholly to composition.
