Kanagawa

Port on the east coast of Honshu, Japan, now part of Yokohama. Kanagawa was where US emissary Matthew Perry negotiated with the Japanese in 1854. The resultant trade agreement was one of the unequal treaties (see also Edo, Treaty of). Kanagawa is also the name of a prefecture adjoining Tokyo.

The field experiment of fourth-generation (4G) radio access took place in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture on December 25, 2006.
