KanchenjungaHimalayan mountain on the Nepal-Sikkim border, 8,586 m/28,170 ft high, 120 km/75 mi southeast of Mount Everest. The name means ‘five treasure houses of the great snows’. Kanchenjunga was first climbed by a British expedition in 1955. |
