Taylor of Environment & Climate News points to the work of researchers from England's Newcastle University who studied glaciers in the Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and Western Himalaya mountains. The mountains towering into the azure sky above our heads are part of the eastern Karakoram Range. One of his books, appropriately titled "Blank on the Map", is an account of such an exploration among some of the world's largest glaciers in the Karakoram range--a large blank he discovered while poring over a map of the high Himalaya. |
