Frisch, Karl von (1886–1982)

Austrian zoologist who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1973 with Konrad Lorenz and Nikolaas Tinbergen for their work on animal behaviour patterns. Karl von Frisch specialized in bees, discovering how they communicate the location of sources of nectar by movements called ‘dances’.
