Kasprzyk, Jacek (1952– )

Polish conductor. He studied in Warsaw and made his debut at the Opera there in 1975. He was principal conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra 1976–82. Resident in England since 1982, he has conducted the Philharmonia, the Hallé Orchestra, and regional BBC orchestras, and has been guest conductor with the Berlin Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony, and San Diego Symphony Orchestras. He has conducted Die Zauberflöte in Stockholm, Der Fliegende Holländer for Opera North, and The Barber of Seville for the English National Opera, in 1992.
