Kaufman, George S(imon) (1889–1961)| US dramatist. He is the author (often in collaboration with others) of many Broadway hits, including Of Thee I Sing 1931, a Pulitzer prize-winning satire on US politics; You Can't Take It with You 1936; The Man Who Came to Dinner 1939; and The Solid Gold Cadillac 1952. Many of his plays became classic Hollywood films. |
