Kelly, James McNeal (1964– )

US astronaut. He was the pilot on the March 2001 flight of the space shuttle Discovery, which transported the second resident crew to the International Space Station. His 2003 flight was postponed following the Columbia space shuttle disaster that year. He has logged more than 307 hours in space. Kelly was selected as an astronaut in 1996.
