Kenai Peninsula

Projection into the Gulf of Alaska, between Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound, in southern Alaska; length 240 km/150 mi. The Kenai Mountains run the length of the peninsula, rising to nearly 2,134 m/7,000 ft. Farming and fishing are important in the mild coastal areas. The main communities are Kenai (population (1990) 6,300), Seward, and Homer.

You may not know that its president this year is Melody Douglas, who, along With her ASBO duties (and being the author of this quote), also juggles being the chief financial officer for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District in Soldotna, Alaska.
The Kenai Peninsula is often named as one of the most diverse and beautiful regions of Alaska.
I was selected to be the superintendent of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District on the south-central coast of Alaska in March 1999.
