Kenkel, Frederick P(atrick) (1863–1952)| US social reformer. He became influential as managing editor of the German Catholic newspaper Amerika, and from 1908 he directed the social reform programme of the Central Verein, the largest German-Catholic organization of the time. |
| He was born in Chicago. He turned to religion after the death of his first wife (around 1900). After World War I the organization and Kenkel's conservative social views waned in influence. |
