Kennelly, Arthur Edwin (1861–1939)

US engineer who gave his name to the Kennelly-Heaviside layer (now the E-layer) of the ionosphere. He verified in 1902 the existence of an ionized layer in the upper atmosphere, predicted by Heaviside.
