Kennet and Avon Canal

Waterway in southwest UK linking the Thames at Reading with the Avon at Bath, a distance of 145 km/90 mi. Designed by Scottish engineer John Rennie, the canal was built in 1810, closed in the 1950s, and reopened in 1990.
