Kenny, Yvonne (1950– )

Australian soprano. She made her London debut in 1975 as Rosamunda in a concert performance of Donizetti's Rosamunda d'Inghilterra, and her Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut in 1976, in the first performance of Henze's We Come to the River. Other London roles have been Ilia, Oscar, Pamina, and Micaela, and Sophie for the English National Opera in 1977; she also sang Ilia at Glyndebourne in 1985. She has performed at the Victoria State Opera, Melbourne since 1978 in the roles of Mélisande, Adèle and Gilda. During the 1992–93 season she appeared in Handel's Alcina at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Deborah at the London Proms. She frequently undertakes concert engagements in Europe.
