Kenton County

County in northern Kentucky; area 422 sq km/163 sq mi; population (1990) 142,000. Its capital is Independence. It is bounded to the north by the Ohio River and the state of Ohio. There is rolling farmland in the northern Bluegrass Region. The county is becoming increasingly industrial and residential, part of the metropolitan area of Cincinnati, Ohio.
