Kentville

Town and administrative headquarters of Kings County, west-central Nova Scotia, Canada, on the Cornwallis River, 84 km/52 mi northwest of Halifax; population (1991) 5,500. It is a commercial centre for the fruit- and dairy-producing Cornwallis and Annapolis river valleys, and a popular tourist destination.

It was settled in 1760 by New Englanders, following the 1755 expulsion of Acadians from nearby lands.
