Khanty-Mansisk

City and river port in the Tyumen oblast (region) of the Russian Federation, in western Siberia, near the confluence of the Irtysh and Ob rivers, and capital of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug; population (1990 est) 34,600. The city was built in the 1930s and has a fishing and canning industry.
