kaizen

Key concept in the quality movement that revolutionized Japanese manufacturing after World War II. As much a social system as an industrial process, kaizen is at the heart of the quality philosophy. It involves the use of small teams of workers, called quality circles, to analyse and make suggestions for improving their own work tasks.
