Kindermann, Johann Erasmus (1616–1655)

German composer and organist. He studied with Johann Staden and in common with other German composers of his time probably visited Venice, Italy, where he would have met Girolamo Frescobaldi and Pietro Cavalli. From 1640 he was organist at the Egidienkirche, Nuremberg.

Vocal

Cantiones Jesu Christi (1639), Friedens Clag (1640), Concentus Salomonis (1642), Opitianischer Orpheus (1642), Musica catechetica (1643), Gottliche Liebesflamme (1651); nine cantatas, and other pieces.

Instrumental

Harmonia organica (1645), 27 Canzoni, nine sonatas, 30 suite movements, and other pieces.
