King Christian II

Incidental music by Jean Sibelius for a play by Adolf Paul; it was composed in 1898 and first performed in Helsinki, Finland, on 28 February 1898, conducted by Sibelius. The suite for orchestra in six movements from it (1898) was his Op. 27. The first British performance was given in London on 26 October 1901, conducted by Henry Wood.
