Kingsley, Ben (1943– )

English film actor. An accomplished character actor, he won an Academy Award for his performance in the title role of Gandhi (1982), and appeared in Bugsy (1991), Schindler's List (1993), Sexy Beast (2001), and House of Sand and Fog (2003).

Kingsley has also starred in Betrayal (1982), Testimony (1987), Pascali's Island (1988), Death and the Maiden (1994), What Planet Are You From? (2000), and Thunderbirds (2004). He appeared in minor support roles in Species (1995), The Assignment (1997), Michael Winner's black comedy Parting Shots (1998), and Tuck Everlasting (2002). He has also appeared in a few television films, most notably as Otto Frank in Anne Frank: The Whole Story (2001).
