Kingstree

Town and administrative headquarters of Williamsburg County, eastern South Carolina, 52 km/32 mi southeast of Sumter; population (1990) 3,900. It is situated in a fertile farm and timbering area and is a trade and processing centre for tobacco, vegetables, dairy products, and lumber. With hunting and fishing in the area, it is also a winter resort.

Kingstree was settled by Irish Calvinists in 1732 on the Black River.
