Kinross

Mill town in Perth and Kinross unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the west shore of Loch Leven, 14 km/9 mi north of Dunfermline; population (2001) 4,700. Wool and linen textiles are manufactured here. In the 13th century, the town was the principal residence of Alexander III of Scotland.

Kinross House, built 1685–90, is an example of Italian Renaissance architecture.
