Kintyre

Longest peninsula in Scotland, in Argyll and Bute unitary authority, lying between the Firth of Clyde and the Atlantic. Joined to the Argyll mainland by the isthmus of Tarbert, it extends southwest for a distance of 70 km/43 mi, with an average width of 10 km/6 mi. Agriculture, fishing, tourism, forestry, and stone quarrying are the main occupations in the area, and its largest centre is Campbeltown. The southernmost headland of the peninsula is the Mull of Kintyre.
