Klammer, Franz (1953- )

Austrian skier. He won a record 26 World Cup downhill races 1974-1985, plus one win in the combined event. He was an Olympic gold medallist in 1976. He was the combined world champion in 1974, and the World Cup downhill champion 1975-78 and 1983. He was the most successful Austrian skier in World Cup competition until February 2000 when Hermann Maier achieved his 27th victory.
