Klammer, Franz (1953– )

Austrian skier. He won a record 26 World Cup downhill races 1974–1985, plus one win in the combined event. He was an Olympic gold medallist in 1976. He was the combined world champion in 1974, and the World Cup downhill champion 1975–78 and 1983. He was the most successful Austrian skier in World Cup competition until February 2000 when Hermann Maier achieved his 27th victory.
