Klemperer, Otto (1885–1973)

German conductor. He was celebrated for his interpretation of contemporary and classical music (especially Beethoven and Brahms). He conducted the Los Angeles Orchestra 1933–39 and the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, from 1959.
