Klotz, Otto Julius (1852-1923)

Canadian astronomer and seismologist. He took up astronomy in 1885 and was appointed director of the Dominion of Canada Observatory in Ottawa in 1917. He wrote numerous papers on terrestrial magnetism and seismology.

He was born in Preston, Ontario, and educated at Toronto and Michigan universities.
