Kmentt, Waldemar (1929– )

Austrian tenor. He made his concert debut in Vienna in 1950, in Beethoven's Choral Symphony, and his opera debut at the Volksoper in 1951 as the Prince in The Love for Three Oranges. He sang at the Vienna Staatsoper from 1952, as Strauss's Emperor, and performed the role of Jacquino at the re-opening of the opera house in 1955. He performed at the Salzburg Festival from 1955, as Mozart's Idamante, Ferrando, and Tamino, and took part in the first performance of Cerha's Baal in 1981.
