Knottingley

Town in West Yorkshire, England, on the River Aire, 5 km/3 mi east of Pontefract; population (2001) 13,500. Barges are built here, and the town has glass-bottle works, chemical works, power stations, foundries, and light-engineering works. There is a large colliery nearby at Kellingley.

The Shortis Group recently acquired Motosave, whose branches stretch across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, with shops in Worksop, Birstall, Bradford, Bramley, Castleford, Huddersfield, Keighley, Knottingley, Leeds, Morley, Malton, Selby, York, Goole, Barnsley, Doncaster, Mexborough, Gainsborough, Lincoln and Scunthorpe.
The two stations are Ferrybridge C, Knottingley, West Yorkshire and Fiddler's Ferry, Warrington, Cheshire.
