knowledge management

Process by which an organization gathers, organizes, shares, and analyses its knowledge. Data entered via a keyboard, a scanner, voice input, or other input device, can be catalogued, indexed, filtered, and linked. The information can then be refined, for example through data mining, in preparation for dissemination.
