Kogan, Leonid

Kogan, Leonid (1924–1982)

Russian violinist. He studied first with his father and later with Abram Yampolsky at the Moscow Conservatory, graduating in 1948 and becoming a teacher there. In 1951 he won first prize at the international competition in Brussels. He was married to the Elisabeth Gilels, sister of Emil.
