Kondakova, Elena Vladimirovna (1957– )

Russian cosmonaut. She was flight engineer aboard the Russian space station Mir from October 1994 to March 1995. In May 1997, she was a mission specialist on the space shuttle Atlantis when it docked with Mir. Konakova was a researcher for the Energiya Rocket and Space Complex from 1980 and was selected as an astronaut in 1989.
