Konoe, Fumimaro, Prince (1891–1945)
Japanese politician and prime minister 1937–39 and 1940–41. He helped to engineer the fall of the Tōjō government in 1944 but committed suicide after being suspected of war crimes.
He entered politics in the 1920s and was active in trying to curb the power of the army in government.
