Kosciusko

City and administrative headquarters of Attala County, central Mississippi, on the Natchez Trace (frontier road following American Indian pathways), near the Yockanookany River, 101 km/63 mi northeast of Jackson; population (1990 est) 7,000. It is an agricultural market centre with lumber, textile, furniture, and other industries.

It was a station on the Trace from about 1811.
