Kozáni

Town in northern Greece; area 3,562 sq km/1,375 sq mi; population (2001) 35,200. The terrain is hilly, rising to 710 m/2,329 ft. Products include wine, tobacco, cereals, textiles, and agricultural tools.

The town of Kozáni has a library housing some 69,000 books.

The Athens News Agency also reported that three Molotov cocktails were thrown Wednesday into the car park of the Kozani police station in northern Greece, triggering a fire that was quickly extinguished.
