Kraemer, Nicholas (1945- )

Scottish conductor and harpsichordist. He was soloist with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and with the English Baroque Soloists. He founded the Raglan Baroque players in 1978 and has been artistic director of the London Bach Orchestra since 1985. He has conducted operas by Handel in Amsterdam, Geneva, and Lisbon (Rinaldo) and chamber orchestras in Prague, Poland, and England (the Manchester Camerata and the Northern Sinfonia). His debut with the English National Opera was in 1992 with The Magic Flute and in Marseille in 1993 with Poppea.
