Krasko, Ivan

    0.01 sec.

Krasko, Ivan (1876–1958)

Slovak Symbolist poet (see Symbolism), the greatest of his generation. The subjective, melancholic tone of his two collections, Nox et solitudo 1909 and Verses 1912, reveals the influence of Czech decadence, in particular the poetry of Karel Hlávaček. However, Krasko applied an original, Impressionist technique to his poetry, and became a great influence on the subsequent generation of Slovak poets.
