Kraus, Lili (1903–1986)

Hungarian pianist. She studied at the Budapest Academy under Kodály and Bartók, and taught in Vienna during the 1920s, after studying with Schnabel. She toured widely, performing classical repertory. She was interned by the Japanese during World War II and continued her career after the war. She taught at Austin University, Texas, from 1967 and retired in 1983. She was often heard in recital with the violinist Szymon Goldberg.
