Kreidekreis, Der

Opera by Alexander von Zemlinsky (libretto by composer after Klabund), composed in 1932 and first produced in Zurich, Switzerland, on 14 October 1933. It was Zemlinsky's last completed opera. It tells the story of how the prostitute Haitang becomes empress of China after Prince Pao reveals he is the father of her child.
