Kreymborg, Alfred

Kreymborg, Alfred (1883-1966)

US poet, editor, and dramatist. He is known as an initiator of the ‘little’ literary magazine. He founded The Glebe (1913-14), a publication showcasing the Imagists, and Others (1915-19), an experimental periodical. He was also interested in puppets, and, with his wife, Remo Buffano, started a puppet theatre. In the 1930s he directed poetic dramas for the Federal Theater Project. Kreymborg was born in New York City. As a young man he worked as a journalist and editor based in New York City.
